IN THE NIGHT GARDEN TEAMS UP WITH NSPCC FOR YEAR-LONG COLLABORATION

Halifax, NS – 2 May 2017 – DHX Media’s popular pre-school brand In the Night Garden is joining forces with the NSPCC in a year-long campaign to help the charity engage with more young children and their parents.

As part of the collaboration the NSPCC’s Baby and Toddler Safety page that launched last month will feature branded In the Night Garden lifestyle imagery, along with tips from the show’s affiliated sleep expert, Mandy Gurney (Millpond Sleep Clinic), to help parents get their children into healthy and effective sleeping routines. In addition, there will be a host of articles created by the NSPCC to assist parents.

The collaboration will also see a variety of fundraising activities, including the sale of a new range of In the Night Garden products from Truprint, due to launch later this month, which will include cushions, blankets and greeting cards, and see 25% of the proceeds going to the NSPCC.

Debbie Walker, Brand Manager, DHX Brands, said: “We are extremely excited about this major collaboration with the NSPCC.  It will not only enhance In the Night Garden’s reputation as a trusted brand with parents but it will also provide a vital service for families who have trouble with their children’s sleeping habits and complement the NSPCC’s range of services for parents.”

Claire Hoyle, Head of Partnerships, NSPCC: “We are really looking forward to this new collaboration with In the Night Garden” kicking off.  Together we will be able to provide great entertainment to young children while at the same time offering top parenting tips for their mums and dads.

“At the same time a range of great new In the Night Garden products will be hitting the shops, with a slice of the sales going direct to the NSPCC and its vital work preventing abuse and neglect happening to children and young people across the UK.”

Screened nightly on CBeebies, In the Night Garden is an enchanting and captivating world full of fascinating stories, nursery rhymes, music and humour. Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka have become part of the bedtime rituals for many preschoolers, and the brand is currently one of the top 10 fastest growing preschool properties in toys, with strong licensing programmes in the UK, Australia and China.

About the NSPCC
The NSPCC is the only children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands.  Using voluntary donations, which make up more than 90 per cent of our funding, we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening. So when a child needs a helping hand, we’ll be there. When parents are finding it tough, we’ll help. When laws need to change, or governments need to do more, we won’t give up until things improve.
