Halifax, NS – 3 October 2013 – DHX Media, a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of children’s entertainment content, is starting production on a brand new 26 x 30-minute, 2D animated comedy series, Looped, aimed at kids aged six to 12. The series is commissioned by Corus Entertainment’s YTV in Canada and has pre-sold to Super RTL in Germany.
Looped is created by the talented Todd Kauffman and Mark Thornton of Neptoon Studios, veterans in the animation industry with years of experience directing award-winning series. The pair created and are directing the upcoming series Grojband in addition to directing Total Drama Island; Kauffman also previously co-created Sidekick.
Steven DeNure, President and COO of DHX Media, says: “DHX Media has a proven track record in creating and producing globally successful animated comedies such as Johnny Test and Kid vs. Kat. Looped is a brand new, unique property which will appeal to fans, gamers and every kid who ever wished they could turn back time or predict the future. YTV is the ideal domestic partner and Super RTL is a great first international home.”
Ever wish your life had a reset button, or knew you were having a pop-quiz before it was popped? Wish you looked like a hero in front of that super cute girl, or knew the star quarterback’s moves before he did? Spoiler alert! Luc and Theo can do all those things. That’s because Luc and Theo are stuck in a time-loop where every day is the same Monday – and knowing the day inside out, they can rock it like it’s Saturday! But it’s not all fun and games. Creating the Loop really glitched up the universal time stream and now Luc and Theo are finding things aren’t as predictable as they thought as they try to make each Monday the best Monday ever!
